Hydrotherapy for dogs is a lot more than just swimming - we have a beautiful heated swimming pool, where your dog is carefully and sympathetically given a controlled swimming session. We will design a therapy plan specifically for your dog, taking into account his age, medical condition and fitness level.

There are many conditions that respond well to hydrotherapy.

Hip dysplasia
Elbow dysplasia
Post operative cruciate surgery
Conservative treatment of cruciate issues
pre and post operative hip replacement and femoral head removal
Elderly dog related conditions
Arthritis
Muscle loss
Recovery from fracture
Obesity, or dogs that have trouble keeping their weight down

We can also provide swimming for fitness and fun. Some dogs just love to swim, but it's not always a good idea to let them swim in rivers or canals, especially in the winter cold. Our pool is heated to a comfortable 30 degrees, and with a thorough wash and dry facility, you can take home a happy, clean and pleasantly tired dog.

The under water treadmill can be used to treat a wide range of medical conditions. For dogs that are not too keen on water, the treadmill would be our preferred choice. The majority of dogs will accept this treatment, and most will thoroughly enjoy it. We can treat any size or breed of dog, and our spaceous, dog friendly treadmill helps to make the whole experience easy and stress free. The under water treadmill is a wonderfully efficient and effective piece of equipment  which has transformed the lives of many of our patients.

Whether it's in the treadmill or the pool - the majority of dogs love their special hydrotherapy session.

Our hydrotherapists work at Tip-Top, not only because they have the right qualifications - but also because they have excellent dog handling skills, so you can be certain that your dog will be in experienced and understanding hands. We always listen to what your dog is saying, and act accordingly - at our centre the dog will always come first. Whether you have a nervous, sensitive, bouncy or confident dog - please get in touch and give us the opportunity to work with you, and help make a difference for your pet.

Working dogs - if you have a working gundog, take part in competitive agility, attend working trials, or you are active in the show ring ...... we could make the difference between being the one to beat or an also-ran! Call us for more information on how we can improve stamina, increase strength, tone muscles and improve drive.
